A tall movement (½ second pendulum) on a rectangular base with a wooden top . The glass and brass frame to the case has been retained by the owner. This type of movement was used extensively on earlier clocks and is often seen on a round base under a glass dome. The battery is hidden in the brass column instead of the base which could therefore be reduced in height. This particular clock is one of the best I have seen in that it is all original and has hardly any wear of the components. This means that there will be no replacement parts needed . The cord on the pendulum although discoloured as they all are, is in good condition so I will try and retain it by masking and cleaning around it. The only real problem is the wood which seems to have been kept in a damp atmosphere as the polish is very discoloured and the wood grain is raised in places. There is also some rust on the metalwork of the movement.
