A short movement clock with the open dial displaying the balance wheel situated behind the movement The round pressed brass base is in good condition and will only need a wax coat to protect it. There is a temptation when restoring these clocks to remove the gilding and polish up the brass but this should be resisted. As can be seen from the photo the minute hand is broken as well as the battery retainer. The rest of the clock looks to be OK.

This detail shows the remains of the minute hand taped to the base. The battery retainer is in a very bad way and seems to have been eaten through by leaking battery acid. One good thing about this style of Eureka clock is that the battery being housed in an open base, cannot leak acid onto the base itself and so you rarely find base with bad acid damage.
