Restoration

This short movement clockette sits on a round mahogany base which houses the 1.5 volt battery underneath. Overall the clock looks to be in good condition with nothing missing other than the glass dome which has been retained for safety by the owner.
One thing that’s rather obvious though are the two shaped spacing washers on the outside of the dial (arrowed). These should in fact be immediately behind the dial to space the brass rim of the dial away from the cross bar which holds the dial to them movement.
The base has been disfigured at some time in the past . It may be a solvent has been spilt or perhaps an attempt to re polish the top. Either way I’ll try and cut it back and see whether we can get away without a complete repolish of the whole base.
